The current situation in Ukraine has put the issue of refugees in Europe back on the agenda. What can we do about this situation? What are we doing as a university?

This roundtable will bring together European projects in which the UAB participates and which address, from different perspectives, the problems of refugees in our midst:

SO-CLOSE, Enhancing Social Cohesion through Sharing the Cultural Heritage of Forced Migrations.

DEPART, Developing Effective Policies for migrants and refugees through SAT-based policy making processes.

REFUGE-ED, Effective practices in education, mental health, and psychosocial support for the integration of refugee children.

The roundtable will be chaired by Margarita Freixas, Dean of the UAB Faculty of Arts and Humanities and Ainhoa Flecha, from the UAB Department of Sociology and member of the SO-CLOSE project.

The speakers will be Javier Rodrigo (SO-CLOSE), UAB Department of Modern and Contemporary History ;

Teresa Sordé (REFUGE-ED),

Sònia Parella (DEPART)

and Massoud Sharifi (DEPART), from the UAB Sociology Department,

and Dominika Kasprowicz (SO-CLOSE), from Villa Decius Association.
